Delegate a DNSimple-Registered Domain to DNSimple

To use DNSimple DNS for a domain registered with DNSimple, open the domain’s tab, click , and switch the name servers to DNSimple’s. The domain then resolves using the DNS records configured in your DNSimple account. For the full name server documentation index, see Name Server Management at DNSimple.

  1. If you have more than one account, select the relevant one.

  2. On the header click the tab, locate the relevant domain, and click on the name to access the domain page.

  3. Click on the left sidebar.

  4. On the card, click .

  5. Click to replace the name servers in the form with DNSimple name servers.

  6. In the dialog, click .

  7. Alternatively, enter the DNSimple name servers in the form yourself:

    • ns1.dnsimple-edge.com
    • ns2.dnsimple-edge.net
    • ns3.dnsimple-edge.io
    • ns4.dnsimple-edge.org

  8. Click to apply the delegation changes.

Name server propagation

Resolvers keep using the old name servers until their cached delegation expires. For .COM and .NET, the registry’s delegation TTL is 48 hours, so the change can take up to 48 hours to reach every resolver.
