Domain Transfer Pricing
Exactly like domain registration, domain transfer price varies depending on the TLD you want to transfer. For the full list visit the the DNSimple domain pricing page.
We only support domain transfer for the TLDs included in that list. Please note that if you see N/A
in the transfer column for a TLD it means we currently don’t support inbound transfers for that specific TLD, although we may support new registrations.
Domain transfer costs
When you transfer a domain, we charge a transfer fee and extend your domain for 1 year from the current expiration date. The extension of the domain is required by ICANN whenever a domain is transferred.
The transfer fee covers the cost of transferring the domain to us and the domain extension. The extension is applied to the current expiration date so that you do not lose any registration time that you have already paid for.
Domain expiration extension
Let’s say you want to transfer a domain already paid through a number of years. A common question is if you will keep those years. The short answer is yes.
When you transfer a domain name it is extended from the current expiration date so you do not lose time from your registration.
The one exception to this rule is when a domain reaches an expiration date that is 10 years away. In this case the domain will not be extended.
