Renew a Domain

By default, newly registered domains are set to auto-renew. If auto-renewal is off, or you want to extend the duration of your domain registration, follow these steps:

To renew a domain

  1. Select the relevant account from the account switcher at the top-right corner of the screen or from your Dashboard.
  2. Locate the relevant domain in your Domain Names list. Click the domain name to access the domain overview page.
  3. On the left-hand side, make sure the Registration tab is selected.
  4. Click Renew now for [price]/year

Note

The total renewal price will be held on your card immediately. Your card will be charged once the renewal completes. If the renewal fails, funds will be released.

Why is renewal not available?

If the renewal option is not available for your domain, one of the following may apply:

  • The domain has expired and needs restoration. Once a domain passes its grace period and enters redemption, it must be restored instead of renewed. Restoration includes a mandatory restore fee in addition to the renewal fee.
  • The domain is auto-renew only. Some TLDs require auto-renewal and do not support manual renewal. For these domains, ensure auto-renewal is enabled and your payment method is valid.
  • Payment method issues. If your payment method is expired or invalid, renewal may not proceed. Update your payment method in your account settings and retry.
