Geniuslink One-click Service

Geniuslink creates short links. To use your own domain for them, point the domain to client-domain.geni.us.

Note

The one-click Geniuslink service adds an ALIAS record to geni.us, which is Geniuslink’s own website, not its custom domain address. Add the record yourself instead, as described below.

Set up the custom domain at Geniuslink

Custom domains are a Geniuslink add-on. Contact Geniuslink to start the setup, and see Geniuslink’s guide to the custom domains add-on.

Use the apex only if the domain is used for nothing but Geniuslink links. Otherwise, point a subdomain such as go.

Add the record in DNSimple

  1. From the list, click the domain, then click at the top-right.
  2. Click , and select for the domain apex or for a subdomain such as go.
  3. For the apex, leave blank. For a subdomain, enter it in .
  4. Enter client-domain.geni.us in , and click .

If you applied the Geniuslink service earlier, remove the service first, which deletes the ALIAS record it added.
