Add and Remove One-click Services

A one-click service adds every DNS record a provider needs, such as Google Workspace or Shopify, to your domain in one step. You add and remove services from the One-click services card on the domain’s DNS page. Removing a service deletes the records linked to that service.
One-click services are included on every plan. For the full list, see the Services category. Mail providers, such as Google Workspace, are also covered in Email Services at DNSimple. To save your own set of records and reuse it across domains, use a DNS template instead.
Add a one-click service
To add a one-click service
- From the domain list, click the domain name.
- Click the tab on the left side.
- In the card, click . If the domain already has a service, the link is .
- Click the tab for the kind of service: , , , , , or .
- To see the records the service creates before you add it, click the line under its description, for example .
- Click next to the service.
- If the service needs details from your provider account, such as a site name or a verification value, fill in the form and click .
The service shows Service installed and appears in the Applied one-click services card at the top of the page. Most providers also need you to add the domain in your account with them. Each service’s article covers that step. The records are ordinary records in your zone, which you can see and edit like any other; see DNS at DNSimple.
Before you add a service, check these:

Record names: some services create their records on a subdomain. For example, the WordPress service creates its record on
blog.example.com. The Adds list shows the exact names. - Conflicts: if any of the service’s records cannot be created, for example because another record already uses the same name, DNSimple adds none of them and shows an error.
- Record limit: the service’s records count toward the zone’s record limit. If adding them would go over the limit, DNSimple adds none of them. When the zone is already at its limit, the buttons are turned off.
Tip
For Heroku and Netlify, the setup page also offers the Heroku Connector or the Netlify Connector. You can still complete the one-click service on that page. A connector keeps checking the connection to your app or site, which a one-click service does not. See Connectors at DNSimple.
Remove a one-click service
To remove a one-click service
- From the domain list, click the domain name.
- Click the tab on the left side.
- In the card, click .
- In the card, click the menu next to the service, and click .
Removing a service deletes the records linked to that service. A record you add later stays, even when it uses the same name.
When you add the service, DNSimple also links two kinds of records that are already in the zone. Remove deletes those too:
- A record with the same name, type, and content as a record the service creates.
- An SPF record at the same name. DNSimple merges the service’s SPF into that record. The Fastmail, iCloud Plus, Mailgun, and Microsoft 365 services add an SPF record.
Warning
There is no confirmation step. The records are deleted as soon as you click , so anything that depends on them, such as a website or email, stops working.
If you deleted a service’s records by hand, the service still shows under Applied one-click services. Remove it there to clear it from the list.
Contribute a new service
One-click services are defined in the open-source dnsimple-services repository on GitHub. To propose a new service, fork the repository, add the service’s files, and open a pull request so we can review and deploy it. The repository’s README explains the files each service needs.
