To register a .UZ domain, the registrant must use their full legal name or company name, and the registry may later ask for a company certificate or photo ID to validate it.

What name rules apply to .UZ registrants?

The registrant can be an individual, a company, or an association, and must be named exactly:

• Individuals must use their full legal name, with no abbreviations such as “J. Doe”.
• Companies must include their legal suffix, such as Ltd, Inc, or GMBH.
• Registered associations must include the RA suffix.

Name servers are required at registration.

How does the .UZ registry validate registrants?

The registry picks new registrations at random each day to validate the registrant. If yours is picked, the registry emails the registrant’s address and asks for:

• A company certificate, for companies and associations
• A photo ID, for individuals

What else should I know about .UZ domains?

• Registration period: 1 or 2 years.
• Expiration: the registry deletes a .UZ domain that is not renewed 14 days before its expiration date.
• DNSSEC: not supported.
• WHOIS privacy: not available.
