.WATCHES Domains
Last updated
Anyone can register a .WATCHES domain, but the registry checks every contact address against U.S. OFAC sanctions rules. A contact with a sanctioned country, or a sanctioned state or province within a country, cannot be used for registration or updates.
Which contact addresses does the registry reject?
The registry validates the country, and the combination of country and state or province, against the U.S. Treasury OFAC sanctions list. If a contact uses a restricted combination, the registry rejects the registration or the contact update. For example, a state or province of Crimea is rejected with Ukraine or the Russian Federation as the country.
If your registration is rejected, check the address on the contact assigned as the registrant.
