Manage Integrated Zone Records

For a zone with an Integrated DNS Provider, the DNSimple Record Editor shows the records at every provider. Each record is labeled with the providers that have it. When you add, update, or delete a record, you choose which providers the change applies to: DNSimple, one or more Integrated DNS Providers, or both. Managing integrated zone records in the Record Editor

To open the Record Editor, click the domain in the list, then click at the top-right of the domain page.

Adding an integrated zone record in the Record Editor

To add a record

  1. In the Record Editor, click .

  2. Select the record type, and enter the record details.

  3. Select the DNS providers to add the record to. The record is only created at the providers you select.

  4. Click .

Updating an integrated zone record in the Record Editor

To update a record

  1. In the Record Editor, click the menu at the end of the record’s row, then select .

  2. Change the record details.

  3. Select the DNS providers to update the record at. If the record does not exist at a selected provider, DNSimple creates it there.

Note

You can include a note when updating a record. Notes are only stored if DNSimple is one of the selected providers. If you only update the record at an Integrated DNS Provider, the note is not saved.

Deleting an integrated zone record in the Record Editor

To delete a record

  1. In the Record Editor, click the menu at the end of the record’s row, then select .

  2. In the confirmation dialog, select the DNS providers to delete the record at. The record is only deleted at the providers you select.

Note

You can include a note when deleting a record. Notes are only stored if DNSimple is one of the selected providers. If you only delete the record at an Integrated DNS Provider, the note is not saved.

To make every provider match one source instead of changing records one at a time, sync the zone.
