Import Zone File

Importing records from a zone file

You can add records to your domain by importing a zone file using the Record Editor.

Importing a zone file won’t delete or replace the existing domain’s records.

As an alternative to manually importing zone files, you can use Auto-Importing DNS Records to automatically scan and import your existing DNS records. To export your domain’s records to a zone file, see Export Zone File.

How to import records from a zone file
  1. Use the account switcher at the top of the page to select the appropriate account.
  2. From the Domain Names list, click the domain you want to manage
  3. Click the DNS tab on the left.

  4. Click on the Import link inside the zones card located on the right-hand panel.

  5. Paste the content from the zone file into the text area, and click Import Zone.

  6. The results of the import will be displayed, including any errors that may have occurred.
