WHOIS Privacy replaces your contact details in a domain’s public registration record with an anonymous proxy identity. It is included at no cost on every DNSimple plan, for TLDs that support it. Support is set by the registry, so it varies by TLD. This page is the starting point for WHOIS Privacy documentation.

Check whether your TLD supports it
Not every TLD allows WHOIS Privacy. To check, find the TLD on the TLD pricing page and look at the WHOIS privacy column.
If a TLD does not support the service, the contact card on the domain’s tab reads “WHOIS Privacy is not supported” and no enable button appears. This is a registry restriction, so it applies to every domain under that TLD.
Where to find the setting
The WHOIS Privacy control lives in the contact card on the tab of a domain:
Find the WHOIS Privacy control
- On the header, click the tab and select the domain.
- Click the tab on the left side.
- Find the contact card. It shows whether WHOIS Privacy is enabled, and the button to change it.
