What is included vs. what is usage-based
DNSimple billing has three components:

| Plan subscription | A fixed monthly fee (Solo has no base fee, Solo Pro is $19/month, Teams starts at $29/month, Enterprise is custom). Covers access to your plan’s features. |
| Usage-based charges | Billed monthly based on your active zones and any DNS query volume above each zone’s included allowance. These appear on your subscription invoice. See the pricing page for current rates. |
| One-time purchases | Domain registrations, renewals, transfers, and SSL certificates. Billed on separate invoices at the time of purchase. |

Solo
DNSimple’s Solo plan provides anyone with a domain management platform where they can manage DNS, domains, and certificates with multiple providers through a single control plane.
Note
You can have a maximum of one user on the Solo plan. The Solo Pro plan also has a maximum of one user. If more than one person needs to access your domains, we recommend choosing the Teams plan.
Cost
No base subscription fee. You will be charged on a pay-as-you-go basis, with fees determined by the number of active zones and any DNS query volume above each zone’s included allowance.
The Solo plan includes:
- The ability to register, transfer, and renew domains
- 100 DNS records per zone
- Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificates (Root & www only)
- Sectigo Certificates
- HTTP redirects
- Primary or secondary DNS zones with Anycast DNS, DNSSEC, and multi-layer DDoS defense, billed monthly at $0.50 per zone
- Email forwarding, billed monthly per domain at $2 for up to 10 email forwards and 1,000 messages/month.
- One-click Services
- Alias records
- Zone queries with 50,000 queries per zone per month included, then $0.80 per million above the allowance
- CAA Records
- WHOIS privacy services
- Activity logs for the past 30 days
- Webhooks
- Standard-level support with responses within 24 hours on business days
Solo Pro
DNSimple’s Solo Pro plan gives one person the advanced DNS, certificate, and API features of the Teams plan. It does not include the features for teams.
Who Solo Pro is for
Choose Solo Pro if you manage your domains alone and need one or more of these features:
- HTTPS redirects
- Let’s Encrypt certificates for any subdomain, wildcard SSL certificates, or certificates with multiple names
- Reverse DNS for your IP addresses
- POOL records or regional records
- DNSimple as secondary DNS
- Scoped API access tokens for automation
If you do not need these features, choose the Solo plan. If more than one person needs to access your domains, choose the Teams plan.
Cost
$19 base monthly subscription fee for one user. Solo Pro is billed monthly only. Active zones are billed at $0.50 per zone per month, and DNS query volume above each zone’s included allowance is billed at $0.70 per million.
How Solo Pro differs from Solo
Solo Pro has a $19 base monthly fee, and Solo has no base fee. The Solo Pro plan includes everything on the Solo plan, plus:
- 500 DNS records per zone
- HTTPS URL redirects
- Let’s Encrypt custom hostname certificates
- Let’s Encrypt wildcard SSL certificates
- Let’s Encrypt certificates with multiple names, using a Subject Alternative Name (SAN)
- Regional and POOL records
- Reverse DNS
- Enable DNSimple as secondary DNS
- Scoped API Access Tokens
- Email forwarding, billed monthly per domain at $2 for up to 15 email forwards and 5,000 messages/month
- Zone queries with 250,000 queries per zone per month included, then $0.70 per million above the allowance
How Solo Pro differs from Teams
Solo Pro has the same DNS, certificate, and API features as Teams. Solo Pro does not include these Teams features:
- More than one user. You cannot add seats or invite members.
- Domain Access Control
- Google Workspace and Okta user provisioning
- Unlimited activity history. Solo Pro shows activity logs for the past 30 days.
- 99% SLA
- A custom invoice email
Teams also has higher limits: 1000 DNS records per zone, 500,000 included queries per zone per month, and 25 email forwards and 10,000 messages per month for each domain. To move between plans, see Changing Subscription Plan.
Teams
DNSimple’s Teams plan provides startups and small engineering teams with all the tools they need to buy, connect, and operate their domains and DNS across multiple providers.
Cost
$29 base monthly subscription fee - includes one seat with the ability to add more seats at a cost of $29/month each.
The Teams plan includes everything on the Solo plan, plus:
- 1000 DNS records per zone
- HTTPS URL redirects
- Let’s Encrypt custom hostname certificates
- Let’s Encrypt wildcard SSL certificates
- Let’s Encrypt certificates with multiple names (SAN)
- Regional and POOL records
- Google Workspace and Okta user provisioning
- Unlimited activity history
- 99% SLA
- Reverse DNS
- Enable DNSimple as secondary DNS
- Scoped API Access Tokens
- Domain Access Control - specify different roles for your team members on a per-domain basis
- Email forwarding, billed monthly per domain at $2 for up to 25 email forwards and 10,000 messages/month
- Zone queries with 500,000 queries per zone per month included, then $0.60 per million above the allowance
- Specify a custom invoice email
Enterprise
